Once upon a time, there was a captain who set sail with his crew to a new territory. Throughout the long journey, the crew began to get scared, doubting and second-guessing themselves as to why they embarked on the journey in the first place. As fear set in they wanted desperately to go back and return to familiar shores and comforts. However, once they arrived at their destination the captain ordered his crew to burn the ships, leaving no way out. The only option was for them to press forward.

In burning the ships, there was no longer a way for them to return the way they came or retreat if the challenge became too overwhelming. Instead, it pushed the crew to complete the mission they started and fulfill a purpose greater than themselves.

When you start a mission or pursue a dream in your life you need to burn the ships behind you and go forward. The struggles and challenges will come, and when they do you need to prepare yourself by having no way to turn back to old ways of thinking or being. There is only forward.

You cannot let who you were, talk you out of who you’re becoming.

Burn the ships friend, you have a mission to complete and a dream to make a reality.
